# Southampton: Fans want Thierry Small

**Southampton fans want to sign Everton youngster Thierry Small after they were linked with a move for the 17-year-old.**

The Saints have been busy in the transfer market so far this summer, bringing in no less than five new arrivals in Romain Perraud ([southamptonfc.com](https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2021-07-02/announcement-romain-perraud-southampton-football-club-2-july-2021)), Danyl Simeu ([chelseafc.com](https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2021/07/27/young-defender-heads-south)), [Valentino Livramento](https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2021-08-02/announcement-tino-livramento-southampton-chelsea-transfer), [Armando Broja](https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2021-08-10/announcement-southampton-football-club-chelsea-armando-broja-loan-deal) and [Adam Armstrong](https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2021-08-10/announcement-adam-armstrong-transfer-southampton-blackburn-rovers).

The St. Mary’s Stadium outfit’s transfer policy is to sign young players with a big sell-on value ([Hampshire Live](https://www.hampshirelive.news/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-transfer-squad-match-comments-5788878)), and all of those players fit in with that plan as they are all aged under 25.

They say the south-coast outfit are interested in Small, and he could be available for a compensation fee of £5m.

A left-back, he made his debut for the Toffees’ senior side last season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/thierry-small/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/746554)).
