# Everton: Che Adams is Frank Lampard’s ‘top priority’

**[Journalist Simon Phillips](https://twitter.com/siphillipssport) has stated that the signing of Che Adams is Frank Lampard’s ‘top priority’ for [Everton](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/).**

### The Lowdown: Everton exploring offer

It has been [reported](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/everton-toffees-eyeing-southampton-striker-che-adams/) that the Goodison Park outfit are ‘exploring’ a loan-to-buy offer for the 26-year-old and that Southampton would be willing to let him go, using the funds to bring in a new striker.

The Merseyside club have been linked with the likes of Chelsea’s [Michy Batshuayi](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/everton-michy-batshuayi-maxi-gomez-transfer-gossip-news-updates/) and Brentford’s [Ivan Toney](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/man-utd-transfer-news-toney-brentford-chelsea/) in recent days, as Frank Lampard desperately looks to sign a centre-forward before the transfer window closes.

### The Latest: Adams is Everton’s ‘top priority’

Speaking to [GiveMeSport](https://www.givemesport.com/88049053-everton-lampard-now-makes-74-goal-star-top-priority-at-goodison-park), Phillips has shared that Adams is Lampard’s ‘top priority’ in terms of Everton’s list of striker targets.

He stated: *“I’ve been told that Che Adams is the top priority there for Lampard at least. But, obviously, at Everton, he’s got the board there, and the decisions are not just Lampard’s.”*

### The Verdict: Great option

Adams would certainly be a great option for Everton, especially if they can get him on an initial loan basis, which would save them the money to then potentially sign him on a permanent deal next season.

The Scotland international boasts plenty of Premier League [experience](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/che-adams/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/346779/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=GB1&pos=&trainer_id=) and he opened his account for the season with [two goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/che-adams/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/346779/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) away to Leicester City on Saturday afternoon, helping the Saints to come from behind and clinch all three points in a 2-1 win.

Therefore, he should be able to settle in fairly quickly with a move to Goodison Park, and Lampard would be hoping that the 26-year-old could hit the ground running straight away in the absence of the [injured](https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjY7bOvq9r5AhUfSUEAHZPPCbsQFnoECAIQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.liverpoolecho.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Ffootball-news%2Fdominic-calvert-lewin-injury-breaking-24669884&usg=AOvVaw1xJg2uTGjq-GlMmAxIKLoC) Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
