# Everton: Alan Nixon reveals Kyle Walker-Peters transfer news

**Journalist Alan Nixon has revealed that [Everton](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/) are now moving to try and sign Kyle Walker-Peters.**

### The Lowdown: Full-back cover needed

Frank Lampard’s current full-back [options](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-everton/startseite/verein/29) are Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson, Vitaliy Mykolenko and the returning Niels Nkounkou.

Coleman is not getting younger at 33, while Patterson has been [plagued by injury](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nathan-patterson/verletzungen/spieler/424015) since his arrival in the January transfer window. Mykolenko also arrived mid-season, while Nkounkou’s future is uncertain having returned from a loan spell in Belgium.

Therefore, the Toffees could do with some extra cover in the full-back areas going into the new season.

### The Latest: Walker-Peters interest

Taking to Twitter, [Nixon](https://twitter.com/reluctantnicko/status/1545338348214042624) revealed that Everton are now moving to sign Walker-Peters from Southampton.

### The Verdict: Get it done

Dubbed ‘[fantastic](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2022/02/15/tottenham-hotspur-kyle-walker-peters-micah-richards-premier-league-southampton-bbc/)‘ by Sky Sports pundit and former [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) full-back Micah Richards during his time with the Saints, Walker-Peters would be a very smart addition for the Toffees.

The 25-year-old was Southampton’s joint-third best performer in the league last term (as per [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/18/Show/England-Southampton)) after putting in some solid displays at the back for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side, including one where the defender recalled keeping world superstar Cristiano Ronaldo ‘[quiet](https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/19920933.walker-peters-makes-cristiano-ronaldo-admission-southampton-praise/)‘ during a 1-1 draw at Manchester United.

[Everton news!](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/everton-news-7/)

Walker-Peters is [equally as comfortable](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kyle-walker-peters/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/341051) at playing at left-back as well as on the opposite flank, so he would be a most useful squad player for Lampard.

Also, the 25-year-old shares the [same agent](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/caa-base-ltd/beraterfirma/berater/674) as the Everton manager, so this is a prospective deal which could well be pushed through.
