# Tottenham: Spurs interested in Alex Scott transfer

**[Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) are keeping tabs on Alex Scott for a potential summer transfer, according to a report from [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-tottenham-scout-next-jack-grealish-as-their-talent-spotters-deliver-rave-reviews/).**

### The Lowdown: Spurs eyeing Scott

Tottenham’s interest in Scott is well-known, with there being [talk](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/tottenham-spurs-alex-scott-transfer-news/) about a potential £12m move in the January transfer window, but [Antonio Conte](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/antonio-conte/) instead opted to strengthen at right-back, [bringing in](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/12799504/pedro-porro-tottenham-sign-right-back-from-sporting-lisbon-on-loan-with-39m-obligation-to-buy-in-summer) Pedro Porro.

However, with Rodrigo Bentancur [sidelined](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12810023/rodrigo-bentancur-injury-tottenham-midfielder-to-undergo-acl-surgery-and-out-for-season-as-injury-crisis-deepens) until the end of the season, and Yves Bissouma [out](https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1625219166725881856?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1625219166725881856%7Ctwgr%5Ed0301342ab5729cfe14e3029af7b0eea18fa96b5%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.spurs-web.com%2Fspurs-news%2Falasdair-gold-explains-how-long-bissouma-is-expected-to-be-out-injured-for%2F) for seven to eight weeks, it has become apparent that Spurs are light on back-up options in midfield, so a move for the youngster could be revisited this summer.

### The Latest: Scouting missions conducted

As per [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-tottenham-scout-next-jack-grealish-as-their-talent-spotters-deliver-rave-reviews/), Tottenham are keeping close tabs on the midfielder for a summer transfer, with their scouts said to have delivered rave reviews about his ability.

Most recently, a senior scout was sent to watch the 19-year-old in Bristol City’s 1-0 victory against Norwich City, following up several scouting missions that have already been conducted.

### The Verdict: Get it done?

Not only is the maestro highly-rated by key figures at Spurs, but Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson has also [lauded](https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/football/bristol-city/destined-for-the-top-fresh-praise-for-spurs-and-wolves-target-hailed-by-bristol-city-boss-4020951) him as a ‘unique talent’ who’s ‘destined for the very top’.

Given just how much first-team experience he has amassed at such a young age, it is hard to disagree, with the starlet already making [77](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-scott/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/855256) appearances for his current club, picking up [five](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-scott/leistungsdaten/spieler/855256) assists in 29 outings so far this season.

Scott is yet to get any [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) experience under his belt, which means that he would probably suit a loan move if Tottenham were to sign him this summer, but on a long-term basis he could be a fantastic acquisition.
