# Tottenham Hotspur: Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson top of Spurs’ target list at £17m

**According to a report from [Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/callum-wilson-king-tottenham-transfer-18860766), Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson could be one of the most likely attacking targets for Tottenham this summer, but the Cherries may command a fee of around [£17m for his services](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/callum-wilson-king-tottenham-transfer-18860766).**

Indeed, as per Gold, Tottenham are ‘intent’ on fixing glaring issues through transfer business and have pinpointed the centre-forward position as a key area which needs to be addressed.

Only superstar Harry Kane stands out as Jose Mourinho’s natural centre-forward option, with a plethora of attacking targets being mentioned as players who can provide suitable back up.

Wilson, Chris Wood, Josh King and Darwin Nunez were all mentioned as being linked, as per [football,london](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/callum-wilson-king-tottenham-transfer-18860766), but the [four-cap England international](https://www.englandstats.com/player.php?pid=1239)‘s ties to a potential Spurs move appear to hold the most substance.

Described as somebody who could ‘[fit the bill’](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/callum-wilson-king-tottenham-transfer-18860766) with his proven Premier League experience, appearances for the Three Lions and his obvious status as a homegrown player, Wilson’s only drawback appears to be a slight slump in form when compared to his stellar 2018/19 campaign. Over last season, he bagged just over half of his previous season’s return, going from 14 league goals in 2018/19 to eight last term ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/134115/History/Callum-Wilson)).

The other potential turn-off is his [previous injury record](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/callum-wilson/verletzungen/spieler/123682), although Wilson was readily available for the [vast majority of last campaign](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/callum-wilson-king-tottenham-transfer-18860766), an encouraging sign should Tottenham make a move.

Described as ‘[outstanding’](https://www.footballparadise.com/wilson-just-knows-howe-to-score-says-bournemouth-boss-eddie/amp/) by his former manager Eddie Howe, the 28-year-old’s wealth of ability and experience, tucked behind a lack of form, could hopefully come shining through as Daniel Levy reportedly weighs up a move.
