# Spurs ready to beat Arsenal to Serie A striker

![pochettino9](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/pochettino9-500x323.jpg?admin)Tottenham Hotspur fans are feeling intrigued by a report circulating in the Transfer Tavern today as they are rumoured to be close completing the signing of a Serie A target.

[Reports from the Metro reveal that Spurs are finally ready to sign Serie A frontman, Simone Zaza,](https://metro.co.uk/2015/11/16/tottenham-want-simone-zaza-transfer-in-january-report-5504610/) who is currently playing for Juventus.

The Italian forward joined Juventus from Sassuolo at the end of last season but has failed to impress so far, making only two Serie A appearances so far this campaign.

It is [understood that Spurs attempted to sign Zaza during the close of the summer transfer window](https://metro.co.uk/2015/11/16/tottenham-want-simone-zaza-transfer-in-january-report-5504610/) and although they just missed out then, Spurs remained interested and will be keen to give it another go with January just around the window.

[There were reports suggesting that North London rivals Arsenal also made an attempt](https://metro.co.uk/2015/09/02/arsenal-made-late-attempt-to-sign-simone-zaza-on-transfer-deadline-day-say-reports-5371685/) to sign the 24-year-old Italian but Juve were determined not to let him go.

[The report also claims fellow Premier League sides, West Ham and Watford, are also keen on the striker,](https://metro.co.uk/2015/11/16/tottenham-want-simone-zaza-transfer-in-january-report-5504610/) who could miss Euro 2016 with Italy if he fails to get regular playing time.

Now that Zaza’s services aren’t a necessity to the struggling Italian giants, they may be eager to part ways with him, Spurs being the front-runners to secure his signature.
