The Tottenham fans who occupy the Transfer Tavern in a joyous mood more often that not will *always* tell you one thing about Harry Kane. He’s one of their own.

The master marksman has dispelled any notion he was a flash in the pan with yet another marvellous season in front of goal and has spearheaded their surprise attack on the title this term.

Despite his God-like status at White Hart Lane, the England international has been linked with big money moves to [Manchester United](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/491305/EXCLUSIVE-Man-United-plotting-stunning-double-swoop-for-Tottenham-stars) and [Real Madrid](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-transfer-news-bayern-munich-and-real-madrid-keeping-tabs-on-harry-kane-a3227666.html) after two stunning seasons.

However, with Spurs set to embark on a long-term project under the stewardship of Mauricio Pochettino heading into a new stadium, they are [reportedly](https://www.footballinsider247.com/tottenham-to-hand-kane-record-contract/?) pulling out all the stops to keep their prized asset in North London.

According to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/tottenham-to-hand-kane-record-contract/?), the club are set to offer the 22-year old a record breaking [£26m](https://www.footballinsider247.com/tottenham-to-hand-kane-record-contract/?) five-year deal in order to retain his services going forward.

[Understood](https://www.footballinsider247.com/tottenham-to-hand-kane-record-contract/?) to have been given the green light by their Argentine coach, the contract would make him the highest paid player in the club’s history.

Though Emmanuel Adebayor was offered £110,000 a week, it was a four-year deal which ended in hugely acrimonious circumstances earlier this season.

Kane will [reportedly](https://www.footballinsider247.com/tottenham-to-hand-kane-record-contract/?) command [£100,000](https://www.footballinsider247.com/tottenham-to-hand-kane-record-contract/?) per week for half a decade, breaking all records in terms of wages at White Hart Lane after his meteoric rise within the past 18 months or so.

**How far can Kane go in the game? Is it imperative Spurs keep him? Can he go on and become their greatest ever striker?**
