**[Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) supporters have been handed a big update on the future of promising young midfielder Bryan Gil.**

After Spurs’ 0-0 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Tuesday, reports emerged of manager Antonio Conte’s fury with the Spaniard following his on-field shortcomings.

Indeed, as shared by reporter [Alasdair Gold](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/news/antonio-conte-bryan-gil-tottenham-25181209), the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) coach was spotted repeatedly screaming at Gil for getting pushed off the ball too easily – urging his midfielder to be more combative.

The 21-year-old, who was [linked](https://cartilagefreecaptain.sbnation.com/2022/8/19/23312903/tottenham-hotspur-transfer-news-rumors-bryan-gil-valencia) with re-joining Valencia in the last transfer window, hasn’t been handed many opportunities in north London since – playing just [11 minutes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/368519/Show/Bryan-Gil) in all competitions.

[La Razon](https://www.larazon.es/deportes/laotraliga/20221005/hoeffbbzrjbx3ovwshzaw6uefq.html) claim Tottenham and Valencia seem ‘doomed to understand each other’ in January with a mid-season agreement on the cards.

It’s added that Gil is eager to return to the Mestalla Stadium and would be ‘crazy’ over the opportunity to leave.

### The Verdict: Let him go?

Another loan for the starlet could be just what he needs as Spurs look to develop a real star for the future.

Likened to [Man City legend David Silva](https://tothelaneandback.com/2021/07/30/ex-coach-compares-tottenham-hotspurs-bryan-gil-to-david-silva/) for his playing style, the technically gifted former Sevilla star could be a long-awaited Christian Eriksen replacement in the making if nurtured properly.

Called an ‘[excellent’ player with ‘huge potential’](https://twitter.com/samleveridge/status/1417453196914663424) by members of the media, Gil needs consistent senior minutes to evolve into someone who could become a real asset at Spurs.

A Valencia reunion, to us, seems the most viable solution.
