**Indicative of the meteoric rise of Spurs under the stewardship of Mauricio Pochettino, the fans in the Transfer Tavern have entirely changed their tune about Erik Lamela.**

Widely regarded as a flop upon his £30m arrival from Roma in 2013, the Argentine has come on leaps and bounds under his compatriot at White Hart Lane and developed into a firm fans’ favourite in North London.

So, imagine the discontent amongst the Spurs supporting locals when reports from *[Gazzetta World](https://www.gazzettaworld.com/news/transfer-market/inter-scout-tottenham-lamela/?)* claimed Inter Milan were keeping close tabs on him.

After a number of seasons of mediocrity, the *Nerazzurri* have been the subject of a colossal Chinese takeover and manager Roberto Mancini has serious cash to splash.

Inter vice-president and club legend Javier Zanetti is [believed](https://www.gazzettaworld.com/news/transfer-market/inter-scout-tottenham-lamela/?) to be in the United States scouting the 24-year old during his Copa America duty with Argentina.

The Serie A giants have also been [linked](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36575300) with a move for Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, who worked with Mancini during his spell at the Etihad of course.

**Is Lamela far too crucial to Spurs these days to be sold?**
