Journalist and Sunderland supporter Josh Bunting has been left fuming over some fixture news that he has heard from the Stadium of Light.

The Lowdown: Birmingham fixture moved

As per the official website of the Wearside club, their Championship fixture away at Birmingham City has now been moved to Friday November 11 for an 8pm kick-off.

This is because it has been selected for live TV broadcasting, and is set to be their final league fixture before they break off for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Latest: Bunting fuming

Taking to Twitter after the news was announced, Bunting was left fuming over the lack of consideration for Black Cats supporters in moving the fixture to a Friday night:

"Another Sunderland game rearranged, Friday night for 8pm in Birmingham. That’s a joke for the Sunderland fans, that takes Sunderland fans into no consideration whatsoever. Hotels and travel it isn’t right whatsoever. Very poor that."

The Verdict: Poor scheduling

If the game was chosen for live TV, then it should have been given a slot on the weekend rather than on a Friday night.

It makes it considerably more difficult for away supporters to travel to the ground in Birmingham, and some may have already made plans by booking hotels and travel tickets with the view of going over the weekend.

Nonetheless, it is the final match that they will be able to see their team play in before the World Cup, and so more consideration was needed before making the final decision.
