Sunderland have reportedly made an approach to try and sign Manchester United winger Amad Diallo.

The Lowdown: Representative talks

According to journalist Jonathan Shrager, Diallo’s representative Michael N’Cho is in talks with the Wearside club over a potential loan move to the Stadium of Light.

However, Blackpool, Anderlecht, Besiktas and Sampdoria are also thought to be interested in his signature.

The Latest: Approach made

As per The Daily Mail, Alex Neil's side, as well as Championship rivals Blackpool, have now made an approach to United over Diallo.

However, Ligue 1 team OGC Nice are now thought to be the favourites to sign him on loan for the season.

The Verdict: Move fast

Given that Nice are favourites for his signature, the Black Cats need to act fast if they are going to steal Diallo away from them.

Hailed as an 'exciting' and 'electric' player by journalist and SAFC supporter Josh Bunting, Diallo has a lot of potential at just 20 years of age.

He was signed by United for a whopping £37.2m last year, showing how much faith they had in the then teenager to reach the very top.

Diallo has already experienced first-team football on loan at Glasgow Rangers last term, scoring three goals in the Scottish Premiership, including on his debut against Ross County (Transfermarkt), and so could really thrive given the chance in the Championship.
