Sunderland have been gifted a timely injury boost as Ross Stewart has been spotted back in training with the team.
The Lowdown: Training individually
The Stadium of Light outfit are using the break for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar to train and build their fitness ahead of their next league game, which is at home to Millwall in the Championship on December 3rd.
The Latest: Back with the team
The Wearside club posted footage of some of the players in training with each other on Tuesday morning on their official Twitter page.
The footage was focused on Stewart, who appears to be back training with the team, as the Black Cats posted the caption: ‘You love to see it.’
The Verdict: Big boost
Stewart being spotted back training with the team is a big boost for Mowbray and his side going into their next run of fixtures after the World Cup.
Hailed as ‘unbelievable‘ by Sunderland journalist James Copley, the striker played a huge part in the club’s promotion from League One last season, scoring a mammoth 26 goals and making a further five assists, including two strikes in the play-offs (Transfermarkt).
He started off this campaign on fire as well, with five goals and three assists in his opening seven Championship starts (Transfermarkt), and will no doubt be a key player for the Black Cats for the second part of the season, should he be able to stay fit.
