Journalist and Sunderland supporter Michael Graham has praised the Championship club's signing of Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder Edouard Michut.

The Lowdown: Done deal

Taking to Twitter on Saturday afternoon, Italian football journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that the 19-year-old's move to the Stadium of Light is a 'done deal', with the France under-21 international initially moving on loan with an option to buy.

Michut was on Wearside to watch his new club as they lost 1-0 at home to Norwich City on Saturday.

The Latest: Graham buzzing

After reading the news, Graham took to Twitter to give his instant reaction to Michut's signing, praising it as 'superb' for Sunderland.

It has not officially been confirmed by the Wearside club as of yet, but an announcement should be made in due course.

The Verdict: Big coup

To get in a player of Michut's quality, especially from a club as big as PSG, can certainly be regarded as a real coup from the Black Cats.

Described as the Black Cats' ‘dream signing’ by Romano, he has already featured eight times in a PSG team which boasts the attacking talents of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, supplying one assist, while he has also scored twice in ten matches at youth level (Transfermarkt).

Nonetheless, with all the uncertainty surrounding Alex Neil and the managerial situation at the Stadium of Light, this is a deal which will surely be welcomed by many Sunderland supporters.
