Alim Ozturk has posted a farewell message to Sunderland fans after he left the club due to his contract expiration.
The former Turkey under-21 international was signed by former Black Cats boss Jack Ross in the summer of 2018 and went on to make a total of 45 appearances for the Wearside club.
Having missed out on a promotion to the Championship for a second successive season, current Sunderland boss Phil Parkinson will now look to build a side over the summer capable of achieving that next term.
Whilst new faces are expected to come through the doors at the Stadium of Light, a number of first team players will depart as their current contracts come to an end.
Having seen his contract expire, Ozturk will now look for a new club this summer, and he has left the Stadium of Light with fond memories, posting on his Instagram a message to fans.
Another player is out of the door at Sunderland and that means boss Parkinson has another position that he must look to fill in the transfer market.
The Sunderland manager is going to have his work cut out to build a squad capable of gaining promotion and it will be interesting to see who arrives at the club in the next few months.
