Sunderland: Fans devastated after Lynden Gooch suffers serious injury

Many Sunderland fans reacted to the news that midfielder Lynden Gooch suffered a serious injury and is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The 24-year-old will be out until after the New Year after breaking his foot, Roker Report revealed, however it is not clear how his injury was caused.
Gooch has scored two goals and four assists from 10 starts in League One this season and is a player who manager Phil Parkinson will certainly miss (Whoscored), with his side sitting eighth in the standings with six wins from their first 12 games of the 2020/21 campaign (via BBC Sport).
Supporters have shown their appreciation towards the American middle man previously, with Aiden McGeady looking like the player that will step into his shoes going into the difficult Christmas period.
