Morgan Feeney has completed his medical with Sunderland and is expected to be announced by the Wearside club, according to Football Insider.
Links with a number of other players have also emerged as Parkinson looks to bounce back next year after a promotion-less campaign in League One.
The 21-year-old defender spent time on loan with Tranmere during the 2019/20 season, whilst also making 12 appearances for Everton’s under-23 side in Premier League 2.
Available on a free transfer, Football Insider has now claimed that a medical and terms have been agreed for the move to be announced.
Aside from his domestic football, experience at international level for England’s under-17, under-18 and under-19 sides also makes him a potentially worthwhile signing.
It seems Feeney’s deal with Sunderland is now set to be announced and that is good news for Parkinson and Sunderland fans.
The more quality Parkinson can add to his squad the better and it needs to be done soon.
