# Sunderland: Fans react to Corry Evans signing

**Sunderland have completed the signing of Northern Ireland international Corry Evans on a two-year deal \[[Sunderland AFC Official](https://www.safc.com/news/team-news/2021/july/safc-sign-corry-evans)\].**

Most recently of Sky Bet Championship side Blackburn Rovers, the Belfast-born anchor man made 18 appearances for the Ewood Park outfit last campaign \[[Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corry-evans/leistungsdaten/spieler/73501/plus/0?saison=2020)\].

Following the conclusion of his [contract](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-evans-set-to-sign-for-sunderland-after-quitting-blackburn-rovers/) at Rovers, he has now elected to move north to the Stadium of Light as the Black Cats seek to get out of the English third-tier on the fourth attempt.

Intriguingly, he has followed in the footsteps of his brother Jonny Evans, who featured for Sunderland on loan from Manchester United between 2006/07 to 2007/08 \[[This is Futbol](https://thisisfutbol.com/2020/04/twitter/sunderland-fans-identify-jonny-evans-as-best-ever-loan-signing/)\].

In light of this news, no wonder loads of Sunderland diehards took to Twitter to rejoice at recent developments.
