Which Sunderland manager has the best win percentage of all time?

With the new season fast approaching, the summer transfer window has offered Parkinson the chance to make a number of significant improvements to his squad, signing Bailey Wright and Aiden O’Brien.

Roberts has now emerged as a potential target with The Athletic claiming a whole host of clubs are keen to make a summer move for the young defender.

Roberts, 18, played regularly for Brighton’s under-23 side last season in Premier League 2, whilst his development has continued with a handful of appearances for England’s under-18 side.

The report goes on to add that Sunderland’s interest is being tested by both Wimbledon and Blackpool who are said to be keen to sign the player on loan.

Aside from interest in Roberts, former Everton youngster Morgan Feeney is said to be in talks with Sunderland after a training spell at the Academy of Light.

Whether it is Roberts or Feeney, Phil Parkinson needs to get some transfers in to the Stadium of Light and quickly.

The window is open for an extended period this term, but surely Parkinson must want to shape his squad ahead of the first league fixture, which is set to take place on 12th September.
