# Surprise twist in Liverpool striker saga, new club enter race to sign star

**Baggies fans in the Transfer Tavern, brace yourself, there is huge news linking you with a certain striker!**

West Bromwich Albion have surprisingly joined the race to sign Liverpool striker Christian Benteke,[according to the Guardian.](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/aug/11/west-brom-christian-benteke-liverpool)

The Baggies are keen on adding to their strike force with Saido Berahino expected to leave this summer, and Benteke is being allowed to move from Liverpool, [if someone stumps up the cash.](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/aug/11/west-brom-christian-benteke-liverpool)

Jurgen Klopp is keen to get as much of the [£32.5million back for Benteke as possible](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/aug/11/west-brom-christian-benteke-liverpool)and West Brom could be set to smash their transfer record, if they move for the Belgian international striker.

Tony Pulis’ side nearly completed a move for Diafra Sakho last week but the move was called off due to a concern over the strikers’ medical.

Our landlord thinks this would be a fantastic signing for the Baggies, but feel that the Belgian will end up at Crystal Palace!

**So, West Brom fans, would you be impressed if your club moved for Benteke? Would he give you the firepower to surprise a few sides this season? Let us know your thoughts below!**
