# Swansea City: Many fans want to see Woodman signed permanently

**Many Swansea City fans have urged their club to go out and buy goalkeeper Freddie Woodman full-time after an impressive start to the season.**

The 22-year-old keeper is currently on loan from Newcastle United and has enjoyed a fantastic start to life at the Liberty Stadium.

[Swansea currently sit top of the league after six games](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/table), winning five and drawing one and have the second-best defensive record in the entire division.

Woodman has only conceded four goals in his first six matches, earning himself a good early reputation with the Welsh club, recording three clean sheets ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/freddie-woodman/leistungsdaten/spieler/226049)).

[Woodman penned an extension with Newcastle](https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/woodman-pens-contract-extension-and-joins-swansea-on-loan/) as he joined Swansea, meaning that his current deal will expire at the end of the 2020/21 season, giving him one more season before his deal ends after this campaign at Swansea.

Many fans responded to a club tweet of a picture of the goalkeeper, with some saying “sign him up”, as well as others tagging their friends and responding with memes.
