Arsenal won't have a huge January budget but if the Gunners are to continue their hunt for the top-four places, the Gunners will need to add to the squad.

Over the summer, Arsenal strengthened in essential areas and all the new arrivals have all improved the squad. Lucas Torreira especially has been outstanding and looks like he'll be a long-term first-team player.

Former Borussia Dortmund defender, Sokratis Papastathopoulos has also impressed at the back although the Gunners have struggled defensively at times.

Without Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac, Arsenal don't have an out and out left-back but according to Calciomercato via talkSPORT, the Gunners are planning a January bid for Ajax full-back, Nicolas Tagliafico.

The Breakdown

Valued at £14.4m, Tagliafico was a target for Newcastle over the summer and has been superb in Holland for Ajax this season.

A part of the Argentina Wolrd Cup squad, Tagliafico has turned into a reliable performer in the Eredivisie and has played eight league games for Ajax. Thanks to his solid performances, Ajax have only conceded four goals this season but still remain five points behind league leaders PSV Eindhoven.

At 26, Tagliafico is just starting to enter his prime and he would present Arsenal with an excellent option to have. Moreover, with both Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac struggling with injuries this season, the Gunners need to find someone who can fill the void.

The Gunners can't afford to let one position derail their top-four hopes and with that in mind, they need to move for the Argentine.
