Arsenal receive massive injury boost ahead of Old Trafford clash

After their 4-2 thrashing of Tottenham in the North London Derby, Arsenal head to Old Trafford looking to add more misery to Jose Mourinho’s terrible Man U season.

Arsenal’s performance on Sunday was a far cry from years past as the Gunners just had too much energy and intensity for a Spurs side that looks stale. The fans haven’t seen an Arsenal side play with so much aggression over a whole 90 minutes for a long time and moreover, the fans hadn’t seen a manager make so many tactical adjustments in a game before.

They now go into tonight’s game looking to continue their unbeaten run and in what will come as great news for Unai Emery, Nacho Monreal and Shkodran Mustafi both trained with the side on Tuesday.

The Breakdown

Nacho Monreal has not played for Arsenal since their 5-1 win over Fulham at the beginning of October. The Spaniard would normally be a huge loss but thanks to the superb form of Sead Kolasinac, Arsenal have survived his loss but with so many games coming up, Emery will be relieved to have some more depth at the position.

With Arsenal short of central defenders, it will also come as great news to hear that Mustafi’s injury isn’t a serious one. Aside from the German international, Arsenal only have Sokratis and Rob Holding as the main out and out defenders to choose from.

Emery might not play either player tonight but nevertheless, having the two back close to fitness is great news.
