After a heavy summer transfer window, Liverpool have started the season incredibly well and have lived up to their pre-season billing as City’s main rival for the Premier League title this season.
Although going forward Mohamed Salah might not be at the form he was at last season, the Reds still look incredibly strong. At the back, Joe Gomez has formed an incredibly solid partnership with Virgil Van Dijk, and have so far only conceded three goals in the league -the joint lowest.
At left-back, Andrew Robertson has established himself as one of the best in the league and has completely closed the door on the error-prone Alberto Moreno of ever starting ahead of him.
According to Spanish publication El Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are lining up a January bid for Moreno.
Alberto Moreno has never materialised into a viable option at the back for Liverpool and with his contract expiring at the end of the season, it would make sense for Liverpool to cash in on any potential fee now rather than letting him leave on a free.
However, due to Moreno’s erratic performances over the course of his Liverpool career, it would seem a slight surprise that Barcelona would make a bid for him in January when they could wait to have him on a free if they want him at all.
La Liga does fit his attacking style of play and at 26, he is entering the prime of his career but it remains to be seen if this move will actually happen.
