This year, the Championship might be the most competitive it's been in recent memory as there are 11 teams that are competing for the promotion places.

Despite a slow start to the season, Birmingham City have climbed up the table. Following their surprise win over Leeds United, City have put together a run of form that has seen them go unbeaten in six games while also winning their last four.

They do, however, take on a Derby County side that has performed well under new boss Frank Lampard and currently sit sixth in the table. Led by the likes of Chelsea loanee Mason Mount, Derby have been an impressive side this year.

Ahead of the game, Mount issued a warning to Birmingham City that Derby are in great form and are a dangerous side.

While Derby have been good, Monk should use those comments as motivation for his side.

The Breakdown

There's no doubt that Derby present a stern test for City but overall, it's still a side that Birmingham could well beat. Considering the run of form that Birmingham City are on at the moment, Monk's side should be completely confident that they can get something out of the game.

A win is a real possibility but if Birmingham can even get a draw, it would mark another good result, especially as they're away from home.

With Che Adams and Lukas Jutkiewicz, Birmingham have two forwards who can trouble Derby and having only conceded 14 goals this season, City have a defence that could well keep out Lampard's side.
