Unfortunately for the rest of the league, Man City look like they're just starting to hit top gear and gather some momentum following their demolition of  Man U at the weekend.

City have now opened up a small gap of two points on second place Liverpool and have scored 36 goals already this season, nine more than Chelsea.

Pep's side now go into the international break on a wave of positivity and should be targeting a historic league and Champions League double.

To make things even better for Man City fans, star man Kevin De Bruyne is targeting a return from injury at the beginning of next month.

The Breakdown

It was thought that the Belgium international would be out for six weeks after picking up an injury in their game against Fulham at the start of the month.

Although De Bruyne is one of the best players in the league, City haven't really struggled without him. David and Bernardo Silva have been superb in his absence, while up front, Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero have continued to terrorise teams.

De Bruyne has only made three appearances this season and with his return, City's array of attacking talent is going to be incredible.

The former Chelsea man may not have been needed by Pep in the league, he's going to be a key man in Europe. With Bayern Munich not the force they once were and with Real Madrid in limbo, City could well have a huge chance of achieving European glory this year.
