Despite making a fairly solid start to the season, Rangers are going to face a tough battle for the title this season as they remain one of five potential contenders.

The Gers strengthened heavily over the summer and thanks to those new recruits, Gerrard has a squad that can legitimately challenge for the title.

Over the course of a long campaign both domestically and on the continent, Gerrard is going to need to use the full remit of his squad.

Coming off their recent 1-0 loss to Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup, Gerrard's men need to pick up three points tonight and one player who could be in line to play, is former Liverpool man, Jordan Rossiter.

Rossiter spoke ahead of tonight's game and emphasised just how important it is for Rangers to win and keep the pressure on the top.

The Breakdown

The 21-year-old could be in line to make his third appearance of the season for the club, which after two terrible years, could be a turning point in his career.

Rossiter joined the club two years ago but as of yet has struggled to stay fit and as a result, he's only made 13 appearances since he arrived from Liverpool.

As it stands, Gerrard doesn't have too many options in defensive midfield and the return of the 21-year-old could be a huge boost for the side.

He may not be the best technically but Rossiter could provide some added steel in the side and help Gerrard's title push.
