Under Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds have become one of the most impressive sides in the league and so far they look one of the favourites to gain promotion to the Premier League after so many years out of the top flight.

With Bielsa at the helm, the players have improved massively with the likes of Kemar Roofe becoming one of the best players in the league, while Kalvin Phillips' game has been completely transformed and has become one of the most important players for Bielsa.

The academy graduate has featured in every one of Leeds' Championship games and plays the crucial deep-lying midfielder role in the side. Within those games, however, Phillips was twice substituted in the first-half but the midfielder has defended his manager's reasons to take him off and has instead showed his frustration as his poor performances.

The Breakdown

With Phillips reflecting so positively on being substituted, it shows that the attitude and character of the squad is in a good place and that the players are right behind the manager.

Not only does Bielsa expect his players to adapt to his high-energy style of play going forward with the ball but also work hard without it. The Leeds players have so far taken to that style of play completely. It remains to be seen where they finish at the end of the season but as the moment, there's definitely a feel-good factor pouring through the club at the moment.
