Following their 5-1 win over Fulham at the weekend, Arsenal now sit two points off the top following a run of six wins in the league and nine in total.

The Gunners have seemingly begun to adapt to Unai Emery's style of play and as evidenced by Aaron Ramsey's goal, Arsenal are beginning to play the kind football that the fans have been missing for so long.

In somewhat refreshing fashion for the fans, it seems that the Arsenal have pulled off some great signings over the summer as Sokratis, Matteo Gunedouzi and especially Lucas Torreira have all improved the team.

Torreira has been a revelation in midfield for the Gunners this season. His ability to break up play while also using the ball smartly has been a great plus for Granit Xhaka, and in turn, the Swiss midfielder's performances have improved this year.

Such has been Torreira's performances that according to talkSPORT, Arsenal have conceded 10 goals without the combative midfielder. Moreover, Arsenal have with Torreira, the Gunners have conceded just three and scored 20.

The Breakdown

Ever since Gilberto Silva, Arsenal have lacked a midfielder that can do an adequate job at the back and suitably shield the defence. Much like N'Golo Kante, Torreira's energy around the park has been superb and at the moment, he's not only doing his defensive job but also Xhaka's.

Now entrenched as a constant starter for Emery, it doesn't look like Torreira will be coming out of the side any time soon.
