Over the summer, Arsenal strengthened in defence, midfield and in goal to give new boss Unai Emery a squad capable of taking the club back into the top four.

After a tough start to the season, Arsenal have managed to put together a solid run of form and have now gone 14 games unbeaten in all competitions following their draw with Liverpool at the weekend.

The Gunners put together one of their most complete performances of the season against Liverpool. Going forward, The Arsenal looked dangerous every time they went forward and with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, Arsenal have two potent forwards that can hurt any team.

However, Arsenal still need another direct and pacey winger to dovetail with the two top quality forwards and although Alex Iwobi has played well, if Arsenal had another premier forward on the other side it could make them unbeatable.

In that pursuit of a winger, Arsenal must be careful not to overspend and must find the man that fits their system and should, therefore, avoid signing Ousmane Dembele who is apparently a January target for Liverpool.

The Breakdown

Signed for an initial £96.8 million fee from Borussia Dortmund last year, Dembele hasn't quite lived up to the hype since joining the Spanish giants. There's no doubt that Dembele has the ability to be a top player but as Arsenal go through their transition into a new era, the club can't afford to spend anything close to that amount on a player and can't afford to take a gamble on the Frenchman.

Arsenal must look elsewhere and if they avoid signing Dembele, they might well have dodged a bullet.
