Crystal Palace have had a tough start to the season as they’ve lost seven of their 11 games in the league and sit 14th in the table, two points off the relegation zone.
Against a Chelsea side that has turned into a surprise title contender, Palace looked as though they might be able to get something out of the game following Andros Townsend’s goal. Unfortunately, for the south London side, Chelsea’s quality eventually won out and Palace were once again beaten.
Without Wilfried Zaha, Palace don’t look like a side that can score too many goals. At the back too, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been outstanding this season and without him at right-back, there’s no doubt Palace would be further down the table.
According to The Sun, the England under-21 international has attracted interest from Everton.
Valued at £4.5 million, Wan-Bissaka has been a revelation at Palace and such has been his superb form that the 20-year-old has recently been called up to the England under-21s.
The young fullback has played 10 games in the league for Hodgson and has been a consistent and reliable performer during Palace’s tough start. In tandem with Patrick Van Aanholt, the two have become one of the better fullback duos outside of the top six.
With Seamus Coleman now 30, Palace can ill afford to lose someone with the quality and potential of Wan-Bissaka. He’s the future of the club and is now essential to them staying in the Premier League.
