It’s been a hot and cold season so far for West Ham as, under Manuel Pellegrini, they at times look like a team that could break into the top eight but also a side that struggles to string together a run of form.
As it stands, the club are on their best of run of form this season as they are currently on a three-game winning streak. With Marko Arnautovic out injured, West Ham have had to rely on their new signing, Felipe Anderson who is quickly becoming one of the stars in the league. At the back, fellow new arrival, Issa Diop looks like a future star and it seems as though West Ham put together some excellent summer business.
One player, however, who has struggled to play this season was former Arsenal man, Jack Wilshere. Unfortunately for West Ham, Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that the midfielder will miss this weekend’s game against Fulham.
Since joining the club, Wilshere has only made five appearances for the club this season and has continually struggled with an ankle injury this season. As we all know, the talented midfielder has had a terrible injury record and although Wilshere joined on a free, it was always a move that seemed destined to fail.
At 26, it doesn’t look like he’ll ever return to the player that dazzled for Arsenal at such a young age. West Ham will continue without him and as it stands, the future lies in the performances of Anderson, Declan Rice and Diop.
