Leeds continued their incredible start to the season this week as they beat Preston North End 3-0 in what was a game where the Whites continued their hunt for Premier League football and remain top of the table.

Under Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds have turned into one of the most entertaining sides in the league and so far look like the most likely team to be promoted this season, although it's early.

Even without key men, Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez out, Leeds were simply too much for Alex Neil's side. In Roofe's place, Bielsa played young forward Tyler Roberts who scored two goals and according to Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Phil Hay, three more of the under-23 squad could be promoted this season.

The Breakdown

With Patrick Bamford out with an injury, having someone with Roberts' ability to step in is going to be crucial for Leeds' promotion hopes this year. Like Roberts, both Clarke and Edmondson are also forwards, and both made the bench against Preston. When Roofe returns, it's unlikely that either will be able to shift Roberts from the first-team but the fact that Bielsa is even considering them is only a good sign.

Tom Pearce on the other hand, could well feature as a backup to Barry Douglas this season. The young full-back has already made two appearances in the EFL Cup and has the best chance of three at being a constant in the squad. It's still early in his tenure but the fact that Bielsa is dropping into the youth team is great news for the club.
