Arsene Wenger left the club over the summer as the north London side ushered in a new era.
Arsenal didn’t get off to the best of starts this season as the Gunners were handed two tough games against Manchester City and Chelsea. Arsenal lost both of those games but fast-forward to mid December and those are the only two losses Arsenal have suffered.
The Gunners go into tomorrow’s game looking to add to their unbeaten run and keep up the pressure on Spurs and Chelsea.
Central to that form has been the performances of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Lucas Torreira, Alexandre Lacazette and Hector Bellerin. Summer signing Torreira has been a revelation after joining from Sampdoria.
The midfielder joined for £26.4 million over the summer and has so far added some much-needed steel and aggression to the Gunners’ midfield. Despite his incredible season, Sky Sports pundit and former Arsenal man, Paul Merson, has concluded that the Uruguayan wouldn’t get into any of the top-four sides.
While he may not get into the Chelsea team, there’s no doubt that Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur or Liverpool would want the midfielder in their team. He’s an instant improvement on Eric Dier in midfield and looks as though he’d be a superb addition to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side. His energy and dynamism would fit ideally to Liverpool’s intensive style of play while he is just a much better player than Dier.
At City he probably wouldn’t start ahead of Fernandinho but he would be a superb backup to the Brazilian.
