Arsenal go into their game against Liverpool today needing to win in order to keep up their pursuit of the top four.

After their long unbeaten run, Arsenal have struggled for form and are going through an injury crisis at the moment. Unai Emery has lost Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Shkodran Mustafi recently and the Gunners go into their huge game likely with Granix Xhaka in the middle of defence.

The Swiss international has never looked comfortable at the back and the idea of him facing Liverpool's dynamic trio must be a worrying site for Arsenal fans.

Going forward, Arsenal are a much better side as they have the league's top scorer in the side but according to reports, Mesut Ozil did not travel with the squad today. Following that news, Paul Merson has insisted that Arsenal need to get rid of the former Germany international.

The Breakdown

Despite signing him to a new deal earlier in the year, Ozil has yet again become a problem at Arsenal.

With Unai Emery now at the helm, Arsenal are shifting towards a more dynamic high pressing style of play, which Ozil doesn't quite fit into. On his day, there's no doubt that the former Real Madrid is one of the best players in the world and has the ability to pick a pass that no one else could. However, in tough games, he can at times falter and can't match the dynamism and physicality needed to beat the big teams. Having signed him to a new deal, it may be a case of Emery keeping him at the club for the time being but picking when to use him.
