After a slow start to the season, it seems Arsenal are starting to learn from their mistakes and are beginning to turn into the team that new man Unai Emery wants them to be.

The Gunners were handed two difficult opening fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester City but following a run of nine wins, Arsenal are now two points off the top.

Central to Arsenal improved performances has been the play of Alexandre Lacazette who since his addition to the starting XI, has been in superb form and has scored four goals in five starts for the club.

One player, however, who seems to be becoming a secondary figure in Emery's team is long-time Arsenal man, Aaron Ramsey who has recently spoken about the club's decision to withdraw their contract offer.

The Breakdown

Despite being one of the few players to play well for the club last season, Aaron Ramsey has been allowed to slip into the final year of his contract a la Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

While some may argue that Arsenal's decision to pull the plug on the deal, sets a precedent of indecision, the fact that Arsenal aren't allowing themselves to be bullied into signing an overrated player on a huge contract, is a massive improvement.

In truth, Ramsey doesn't fit into Arsenal new formation. He's not a number 10 like Ozil and he's too much of a defensive liability to play at the base of a 4-2-3-1 with Xhaka.
