Middlesbrough have been struggling for form recently and have only won one of their last seven games.

Tony Pulis' side had at one point been one of the most consistent sides in the league but recently, his side has struggled to pick up points. As per usual with Tony Pulis teams, Middlesbrough have been solid defensively but also have a poor record in front of goal.

Over the last few games Middlesbrough have only scored three goals in seven games and lack a forward that fits into Pulis' style of play. Britt Assombalonga is the club's top scorer with six while Jordan Hugill has only scored three.

Next month Pulis must look to add a forward who can not only hold up the ball but also score goals. According to the Hartlepool Mail, Middlesbrough are pursuing Crystal Palace frontman, Connor Wickham.

The Breakdown

Since he joined Palace in 2015, he has failed to make an impact at the club and has also struggled with injuries. In his first season he played 21 games but since then he's barely made a handful and this season he's only managed to play twice in the league. He may not be an experienced goalscorer but making the move to the Championship might just be a transfer that could jumpstart his career.

Middlesbrough need a forward who can help them as they approach the second-half of the season and considering his faltering career of late, he may be available for a relatively low fee.
