West Ham had a tough start to the season this year as they adjusted to a new manager and a host of new players joining the club.

During the summer, West Ham broke their transfer record twice on Issa Diop and Felipe Anderson. Both players have been outstanding for the club this season with Anderson, in particular, becoming a star for the east London side.

During his time in Italy, Anderson showed talent but didn't perform at the level that he's played at this season. The Brazilian forward has scored six goals in the league this season while also creating two. Thanks to the form of the Brazilian and with Pellegrini looking like he's finally managed to embed his style, West Ham have put together a run of four wins in a row and are currently only two points off Man U in sixth.

They will need to add some more players next month and according to Italian journalist, Gianluca di Marzio, West Ham are in pole position to sign Inter Milan flop, Gabriel Barbosa in January.

The Breakdown

Highly regarded during his time in Brazil, Gabriel has found it hard to take his form from his homeland to Europe and as of yet, can only be seen as a flop. He only managed to score one goal for Inter Milan and was poor during his time on loan with Benfica last season.

He was sent on loan to Santos last season and he did do well as he scored 18 goals in 35 games for the club but in truth, he isn't the player West Ham need to sign.
