# ‘The lad is rotten’ – A lot of Rangers fans want to see 26-year-old leave Ibrox

**The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been making their feelings clear about their 26-year-old midfielder, Andy Halliday. The club tweeted a link to the [*Rangers website*](https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/honour-to-work-with-manager/) where Halliday gave an interview detailing how it’s been an honour to work with Steven Gerrard, although the fans can’t stand the midfielder and want him gone.**

> Halliday: “For myself as a midfielder, and I’m sure the other boys will say the same, it is massive, and any tips those two are going to give you, you need to listen intensely.”

Andy Halliday is one of those players that the fans really want to see leave Ibrox. The 26-year-old is running out of chances with the supporters at the club and whilst there’s no doubting that Stevie G can enhance him as a player, the Gers will be hoping he’s not around long enough to reap the rewards of the former England and Liverpool captain’s coaching tips.

Halliday has had his run-ins with the fans before and as recently as April, he was hooked late in the first-half against Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park and when a Rangers fans shouted their opinion of Halliday at the midfielder, the 26-year-old lost it, going on an X-rated rant at the fan. Whilst Graeme Murty had to give the player a dressing down after the game, the fans have not forgiven the midfielder for his conduct.

You can read our frustrated Bluenoses’ thoughts on Halliday here:

> More life’s than a cat. Honestly the lad is rotten.

> Bit of credit, he’s the first Rangers supporter with the new training gear.

> Halliday will go when first decent offer comes in, he prob knows that. Still on books so club will be keeping him fit till the inevitable happens. Abuse on here is bang out of order though

> Andy…………….goiny accept the fact your not good enough to play at this club? I know your rangers in the blood etc but ur effectively just stealing a wage now. Good luck with the rest of your career though.

As you can see, the Gers will be delighted when Halliday finally leaves but until then they’ll havr to just get by knowing next season will be better than this one.
