# These Chelsea fans the club to hang on to Tammy Abraham

**Chelsea had a quiet window, but towards the end of the summer, business really picked up. A couple of new players came in, and over the last few weeks a few loan departures have been confirmed – like Michy Batshuyi’s switch to La Liga and Tiemoue Bakayoko’s move to Italy.**

However, it appears as though the final day of the Premier League window was even more busy for Chelsea than we were led to believe.

[According to Goal, Tottenham had a significant offer for one of Chelsea’s best young players rejected on deadline day. A £25 million move was apparently made by Spurs for young Tammy Abraham, with Mauricio Pochettino apparently viewing him as the ideal back-up to Harry Kane.](https://www.goal.com/en/news/tottenham-had-25m-deadline-day-swoop-for-abraham-rejected-by/pwxsdy502d611ou0ra0oxp4nt)

Abraham had a mixed first season in the Premier League last year, having failed to impress for Swansea, but Pochettino clearly still sees his talent. Evidently, Chelsea do too, given that the bid – a sizeable one for an unproven player – was rejected.  His goalscoring record both at youth level and in the Championship has been very good – and if he’s able to prove his worth in the top flight, Chelsea’s decision could prove to be a very good one.

Naturally, Chelsea fans online have been reacting to the news, and they’re very happy that Tottenham didn’t get their man. They have a lot of faith in young Tammy.

Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
