Leeds fans in the Tavern have turned their attention to Norwich City with just two games remaining in the Championship after securing a 2-1 win over Barnsley last weekend.
Transfer speculation has begun as Paul Heckingbottom looks to add to his squad and challenge for promotion to the Premier League next year. A permanent deal for Matthew Pennington has been discussed by our punters, as well as a move for Swansea striker Oli McBurnie.
One man Leeds should be targeting in the summer is Crystal Palace winger – Bakary Sako. The 30-year-old left Wolves for Palace three years ago and has gone on to make 50 appearances for the Eagles.
Sako has scored six goals in all competitions this season, but his campaign was cruelly cut short in February when he suffered a fractured ankle and damaged ligaments against West Ham.
The winger’s contract expires in the summer and talks have not begun over a new deal at Selhurst Park meaning he could be available for nothing. Rated at £4.5m by Transfermarkt, he’d be a wonderful addition.
Leeds would be stupid not to throw their hat in the ring for his signature – he netted 15 goals during his final season in the Championship with Wolves.
The Whites are likely to face competition in the race to sign him with Wolves among the club interested.
Sako would be a real statement of intent and give Leeds a much-needed boost in the race for promotion.
Leed fans, would Bakary Sako be the right signing? Let us know
