Sheffield Wednesday have been putting together a number of impressive results and one man feels as though the team can continue to build on it.
The Owls are just sat outside of the playoffs at the moment by two points after suffering one defeat in their last seven outings.
They held Yorkshire rivals Leeds United to a 1-1 draw at Hillsborough on Friday night but will face another difficult home test on Wednesday when they face new Championship leaders West Bromwich Albion.
However, Adam Reach believes his team are more than capable of challenging them and believes the club should be competing for a place in the Premier League next season themselves.
Speaking to the Sheffield Star, he said: “I think we have shown we can challenge for the top six. Without a doubt.
“Look at our overall performances, they have been very good. Blips such as Wigan and Brentford, which ended up being wake-up calls.
“We have come pretty far since the start of the season. It took us time to bed in with formations and our positional play.”
Jos Luhukay’s side have been playing well this season, although it remains to be seen if they have the squad to continue to mount the challenge.
The Owls have struggled with a number of injuries already and were unable to add significant depth to their team in the summer following a transfer embargo.
However, their recent form would suggest that they can cause an upset in the league, and although automatic promotion would be unlikely, they could find themselves in a playoff spot once the Championship season finishes.
