Portsmouth recorded a victory against Coventry City in their last match and built a three-point gap between them and Peterborough United at the top of League One.
Pompey remain unbeaten in the league so far this season and have been installed as favourites to lift the title as they work their way back to Championship football.
Kenny Jackett will be looking for his side to continue their run at the weekend when they meet Gillingham at Fratton Park.
The south coast outfit have had their injury concerns over the course of the season, in particular with Andre Green, however, there appears to be some positive news on the horizon.
The winger has had to return to his parent club for treatment on his right knee having featured just twice for Pompey, but his manager is not concerned and thinks he will play a role in the latter parts of the season.
“It is coming on well and, for him, it’s just about bits of movement,” he told the Portsmouth News.
“Andre will train at some stage through October definitely and I’ve got in my mind maybe being match fit around the start of November.
“If he is quicker than that, great. No problems with that, but that just looks the timeframe.”
Green’s return will be great news for Portsmouth as he will look to play an important role across the season.
Pompey have managed to cope without him so far, however, he will have been brought to the team to make their attacking ranks better.
Green will have been frustrated by the injuries he has picked up, but if he can make a return in November, he could play a pivotal role in Portsmouth’s chase for Championship football.
