Arsenal and Liverpool fans by the Transfer Tavern dartboard are disappointed to see that they’ve missed the bullseye in a deal for a highly-rated target of theirs.
The Telegraph state that Leicester City will offer fresh terms to defender Ben Chilwell, after it emerged that the Arsenal and Liverpool defensive target earns just £800-a-week currently with the Foxes.
Leicester are flying-high in the Premier League, trailing only Arsenal, and their star-men are attracting vast interest. Chilwell is not one of them though, making just two senior appearances, but Claudio Ranieri is adamant the young left-back will not be sold.
The highly-rated 19-year-old will now be handed a new contract by the Premier League underdogs, who saw Chilwell impress in the weekend’s 2-2 FA Cup draw against Tottenham Hotspur.
Chilwell is tipped by many in the bar to become a more regular starter for Leicester as the season progresses and our landlord believes that staying with Leicester for the time being is the right call.
Arsenal fans, do you need a young left-back like Chilwell? Let us know in the comments below!
