Last night saw Marcelo Bielsa again pull off a tactical masterclass as Alex Neil’s Preston were put to the sword 3-0. The football that The Whites have been playing has been magical at times and has had the Leeds fans calling it Bielsa-ball. After the win last night Marcelo Bielsa compared Leeds to some of his former clubs Athletic Bilbao, Lille and Marseille and the supporters lapped it up.
Bielsa asked why he chose to come to Leeds: "Leeds have similar aspects to Marseille and Bilbao. The link between the city and the team, the fans who are passionate. Lille also had this feature. It was attractive to discover English football from inside." #lufc

Being a Leeds fan at the moment is made very easy by the fact that Marcelo Bielsa is a genius. The man can do no wrong in the eyes of the supporters and even though the squad is very thin and has a few injuries the Whites continue to demolish everything in their path. their eight-game unbeaten run will only get longer and considering they were without four senior players last night the achievement is all the more impressive.
It’s only early days but the Championship looks like it’s there for the taking for Marcelo Bielsa and his side. They’ve already manoeuvred some tough games away at Swansea, Millwall and Derby, as well as home clashes against Stoke and Middlesbrough, and they’re yet to taste defeat. You can forgive the fans for getting carried away but when you’ve got someone as talented as Bielsa comparing your club to the likes of Marseille it’s easy to start dreaming.

The way we play is worth every penny, don’t get me wrong winning games in any style is important thing but winning like leeds play is the ultimate

The fans are loving Bielsa, his football and his comparisons and they’ll be desperate to see their side near the top of the table come to the end of the season.
