According to The Yorkshire Post, Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri has not given up on his club's promotion chances this season.

That may come across as delusional to some fans and pundits given the season The Owls have had so far, but there is a lot to suggest that this ambition is not that ridiculous.

The club have already been in the top six this season after making a good start to their campaign. Of course, their promotion hopes hit a snag as the team looked increasingly directionless and disorganised under Jos Luhukay. However, the Dutchman's departure has seen a return in form for the club under Lee Bullen, whereby they are now undefeated in six games.

As the article also suggests, they have a very favourable run of fixtures coming up, which could see them sneak into the top six by the end of the season. What is more encouraging for the fans is the arrival of Steve Bruce. Some fans may not be too overjoyed with this appointment given the way his time at Aston Villa ended this season, but fans should not forget how far he took them last season- agonisingly close to earning promotion back to the Premier League.

Bruce is a specialist in promotion, having earned it four times whilst at Birmingham and Hull; he knows how to do it, and this is the perfect appointment. He may not be flashy, but he knows how to get the job done, and that is surely what the fans want more than anything.

Therefore, while there have been negatives so far this season at Hillsborough, there are a lot a positives in the future, and the fans should be grateful for Chansiri's dreams.
