Birmingham City and Wolves are two Championship clubs thought to be interested in bringing Greenock defender Thomas O’Ware to their clubs this summer, much to the delight of their fans here in the Tavern!
Whilst Wolves have enjoyed a turnaround in form over the past couple of months, these are dire times down at St Andrews and the Blues faithful that are here in the Tavern are praying that things can improve with just a handful of games remaining.
And one answer to the crisis that has been unfolding in the Midlands in recent weeks could be bringing in O’Hare, who has scored a staggering ten goals from centre-back for Morton this season.
He’s been linked with both of the Midlands clubs by the Daily Mail today, with Greenock thought to be keen on cashing in on some of their more prized assets.
Morton sit fourth in the Scottish Championship table with four games to go and some of the Rangers and Celtic supporters that often reside in the pub are looking on curiously, seeing whether they’ll have some new competition in the top-flight next season.
But Morton could be without O’Hare, whose fantastic goalscoring form looks to have alerted the likes of Paul Lambert and Gianfranco Zola, both of who will be looking to add to their ranks next season.
