Charlton Athletic’s fans have endured a difficult time in the last four and a half years.
During Roland Duchatelet’s reign, in which he has not been seen at a game in four years, the Addicks have gone from a side that had struggled in the Championship to a team that has failed to win promotion from League One.
The Valley outfit, who had once been a model Premier League outfit, have also had ten different managers under the Belgian millionaire, with many feeling that has contributed to their downfall.
Fans have been vehemently protesting about his ownership of the club and the 71-year-old has looked to sell up, with some positive news starting to come out of south London.
Lieven De Turck, who is representing the club in takeover talks, has revealed that there are several parties thought to be interested in purchasing the Addicks.
He had revealed that an Australian group were working hard to get a deal done, although the time it is taking has been concerning, whilst four other parties are thought to have taken an interest, but warned it is early days.
Charlton fans will be pleased to know that there is significant interest in the side and will be hoping a takeover is completed as soon as possible.
The situation at The Valley has become diabolical and it would be best for everyone involved if they were able to get new owners into the club as quickly as they can.
Charlton have made a good start to their League One campaign, with Lee Bowyer’s side sitting just outside the playoff positions.
