Charlton Athletic will look to book their place in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday when they host Doncaster Rovers in the competition.
The Addicks are currently on a great run of form and thumped League Two outfit Mansfield Town in a replay to earn their spot in the current round.
However, Doncaster will pose a difficult test for Lee Bowyer’s side, as they have been performing well in League One, sitting just one spot behind The Valley outfit with two fewer points.
Charlton did beat their opponents in the league at the beginning of November, however, it appears as though the south London club will be without a few of their key players.
Igor Vetokele, Lewis Page, Darren Pratley and Josh Cullen have all been made unavailable although Bowyer is expected to make changes to his team to try and keep things fresh.
Ben Reeves is one man that is expected to make a return as he has not featured for the Addicks since their league triumph over Saturday’s opponents.
Although League One is the club’s main priority, a good cup run could be a great way for the team to continue their fine form, as well as bring some additional finance to the club.
Charlton will be confident that they can get a result against their divisional rivals, who struggled to overcome Chorley in their first round, although they did put seven past them in their replay.
The four absentees will not have helped their chances, however, it could be a great chance for some of the players to show Bowyer that they deserve more minutes in the first-team as they push for promotion this season.
