Our Derby County fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a strong summer window under Gary Rowett to make sure their club finally makes a real go of getting promotion.
At the start of this season, of course, the Rams were one of the favourites to come up but this season has once again been a let down leaving them to contend with a finish outside the play-offs.
With Rowett, though, they do have a strong manager and next season could at last prove to be the one where they return to the Premier League.
Time will tell, of course, but in the meantime the club has decided to dismiss CEO Sam Rush for what it claims is gross misconduct.
Indeed, the Rams posted a link to a statement concerning the matter and fans of the club were certainly quick to react.
Here, then, is the best of what was said:
STATEMENT: #DCFC has this evening released a statement regarding President & CEO Sam Rush.

@dcfcofficial Mel Morris has done right, Rush has obviously been up to something and deserves sacking if he’s dragging Derby’s name through it

@dcfcofficial All hail Chairman Mel
