Derby fans here in the Tavern are still buzzing from a good week, which could be about to get better with the news that the talented Will Hughes could be available for their remaining league fixtures.
Hughes, who had been the target of several Premier League clubs last summer, has been out since suffering cruciate ligament damage on the opening day of the season- but The Derby Telegraph state his absence is about to end.
His absence has been a massive blow to the Rams who have struggled to match pre-season ambitions of being favourites for promotion although do still find themselves inside the play-off places.
Many Rams’ fans are still buzzing with last weekend’s victory over fierce rivals Nottingham Forest and this latest bit of news could also be a big boost in their push for promotion.
20-year-old Hughes already has 122 league appearances for the Rams and his potential return would be massive for them to take into the final few crucial league games.
They have been in and around the play-offs for much of the season and with eight league games remaining are well placed to compete in the end of season promotion bonanza.
Rams’ fans will be much more confident with the talented Hughes back in their side for that.
